To my sisters and brothers in the Western Pacific Region;
For those of you that do not know me, my name is Mike Hull and I retired approximately two years ago from Southern California TRACON. Although I am no longer a member of your region, I would like to say a few words about a great person and a great NATCA advocate.
I have had the honor and privilege to know Ham Ghaffari for almost 20 years. I have always known Ham to be passionate, caring and extremely knowledgeable in all things NATCA, as he has proven time and time again. Ham possesses all of the necessary skills and knowledge to again be elected as the regional vice president of this region. Ham has always shown me that he is dedicated, loyal and devoted to this great organization and all of its causes.
Ham is the consummate professional leader and he has proven that at all levels of NATCA regardless of the representational position that he has held. From his very early days as an area representative, to his almost nine years as a FACREP and then almost nine years as your RVP, he has been an outstanding representative. Ham will stop at nothing to obtain the best possible result on any issue at any time and has always had the best interests of this organization and its members foremost in his heart and mind. I have witnessed his extreme dedication first-hand when I was the Alternate Regional Vice President for over six years. In that time, he placed many of our younger members in regional leadership positions and has continued to do so. Ham is the pioneer of the mentorship of our younger members. Well before anyone else began involving our new generation, Ham was setting up a mentorship program, in this region, that is second to none and that is the model for all current and future mentorship programs. Brother Ham has always had a knack for making just the right argument in order to make management see a particular issue “the NATCA way” and that what he is professing is the “right thing to do.” He never ceases to amaze me.
It is my sincere honor and privilege to endorse and support brother Ham Ghaffari to continue as the RVP of the great region you have become under his stewardship. Over the course of his three terms, Ham has led this region to the forefront in all facets of NATCA. I strongly suggest that you cast your vote for Ham Ghaffari. By doing so, you will guarantee this great region another three years of being one of the leading regions in this organization.
Thank you very much for listening.
Fraternally and in Solidarity,
Southern California TRACON
