It is with tremendous enthusiasm that I endorse Ham Ghaffari to continue to lead and serve the Western Pacific Region as OUR NATCA Regional Vice President.
I have had the honor of working with Ham for eight years as a legislative activist, and for the last four years as our regional legislative chair. Over the years, Ham has proven to be an exceptional leader, more importantly to me, his tireless work ethic and dedication to legislative activism has been second to none. Ham has driven the Western Pacific Region to levels of legislative activism that many thought would never be possible.
During this time of daily attacks on federal employees it is more important than ever that we have an RVP who is invested in legislative activism and one who will continue to protect our workforce from pay cuts, furloughs and shutdowns. Ham not only understands the vital importance of legislative activism to our membership but also has an unwavering record of keeping legislative efforts a priority.
Additionally, Ham has the natural ability to uplift the spirits of the membership and inspire individuals to embrace a passionate yet mindful vision for OUR future. During Ham’s most recent tenure, he has turned his zealous vision into an accomplished reality. Having a vision and accomplishing one are two very different things.
Ham’s influence in mentoring the newer generation of air traffic controllers as they grow and flourish into strong NATCAvists has been one of the many reasons our region has had such great success. He has also been a true pioneer in mentoring and training and his time left in the agency will ensure that our membership will continue to have the support needed to guide our membership well into the future.
For these reasons, and many more, I confidently place my NATCA future in the hands of this upstanding individual and urge you to do the same.
